LEAH partners with Achievable to offer heavily discounted prep

Homeschool New York / LEAH partners with Achievable to offer heavily discounted prep for members

We’re excited to share a new partnership that we believe will offer meaningful support for our homeschool families. Homeschool New York / LEAH has officially partnered with Achievable, a leading provider of test preparation materials, to offer our members heavily discounted ACT and CLT (and soon SAT) test preparation courses. This collaboration is designed to make high-quality, flexible test prep more accessible for homeschool students without breaking the bank. If standardized testing is part of your student’s future plans, we think this partnership will be a great new resource.

Why We’re Excited About This Partnership

Homeschool families approach college admissions in many different ways. Some students rely on portfolios, interviews, or alternative credentials. Others choose to take standardized exams like the ACT, SAT, or CLT to strengthen applications, qualify for scholarships, or meet specific college requirements.

What we hear consistently from families, though, is that test prep can be expensive, overwhelming, and poorly suited to homeschool learners. Many programs assume a traditional classroom background, rigid schedules, or one-size-fits-all instruction. Achievable stood out to us because they build modern, student-centered courses that prioritize clarity, flexibility, and real understanding – qualities that align well with how homeschool students learn. Plus, their CLT course is the only CLT prep course authored by the official test preparation partner of the CLT Exam, Clayborne Education. This alignment with homeschooled students is unique to Achievable, and a key reason why we pursued this partnership.

A Natural Fit for Homeschool Learners

Through this partnership, LEAH members will receive access to deeply discounted ACT and CLT prep courses from Achievable as part of their Achievable For All program.

These courses are designed to work especially well for homeschool students:

  • Self-paced and flexible, so families can fit prep into their existing routines
  • Clear and approachable, even for students who feel anxious about standardized testing
  • Adaptive, automatically focusing students on areas where they need the most improvement
  • Support the CLT, a preferred option for many classically educated homeschoolers

Homeschool students often bring unique strengths to the table: independence, deep reading skills, critical thinking, and the ability to connect ideas across disciplines. At the same time, they may have had less exposure to timed, standardized exams, so they can can feel unfamiliar or intimidating.

Achievable’s approach recognizes that reality and is built to accommodate homeschooled students. Their courses don’t try to force students into a traditional classroom mold. Instead, they help students translate the learning they already have into success on exams.

And, as Achievable CEO Tyler York shared with us, expanding access to test prep isn’t just about test scores – it’s about opportunity. When families can’t afford high-quality prep, students lose college admissions options, families lose potential scholarships, and more. This partnership is one way to help ensure homeschool students aren’t at a disadvantage simply because of cost or access.

Part of a Broader Mission

This collaboration is part of Achievable’s Achievable For All initiative, which focuses on partnering with mission-aligned organizations to expand access to education. They’ve previously worked with nonprofits and community groups serving first-generation students, underrepresented communities, and learners pursuing professional credentials. We’re proud to represent homeschool families in that group and to see homeschooling recognized as an important and growing educational pathway.

At LEAH, we’re always looking for partnerships that reflect our core values, some of which are below:

  • Educational freedom
  • Family choice
  • Equitable access to opportunity
  • Respect for diverse learning paths

This partnership checks those boxes.

Who is this for

This opportunity is especially helpful if your student:

  • Plans to apply to colleges that accept or require the ACT or CLT
  • Is pursuing merit-based scholarships tied to test scores
  • Wants structured guidance without a rigid classroom schedule
  • Has strong academic skills but limited experience with timed tests
  • Comes from a classical, literature-rich, or discussion-based homeschool background

Even if testing is still a year or two away, having affordable, high-quality prep available can help families plan ahead.
