This two-prism set-up is just one of the clever experiments that Newton designed with several optical systems to demonstrate that white light consists of the rainbow colours. These are all recorded in his publication, “OPTIKS or a Treatise of Reflections, Refractions, Infections and Colours”. To explore a couple of these experiments, access our new tutorial, “LightLab_Extra10_Newton’s Double Prisms.” This lesson makes a great compliment to Lightlab Chapter 10, “Are You in His Light?”
