Dear LEAH and CHELA Members:
I am writing to thank you for your support of my efforts to implement reduction of the regulations on homeschooling families.
As you may be aware, I have received a response to my initial letter from Commissioner of Education Richard Mills. I found his response to be inadequate, and have written to him again. I have asked for a direct response to the six issues I raised in my initial letter. Section 100.10 of the Commissioner's Regulations was established twelve years ago. Without a doubt, it is time to revise these regulations if the Commissioner is not willing to revise the homeschooling regulations. I intend to introduce legislation which will accomplish the necessary regulatory relief for homeschooling families. To be very clear, I would not support any additional mandates on homeschoolers.
I have enclosed a copy of my second letter to Commissioner Mills for your
information. Again, thank you for your support of my efforts to reduce
homeschooling regulation. I also appreciate the letters and phone calls you have
made to the Commissioner's office regarding this issue. Your active support is
critical to the success of my efforts.
Sincerely,
John R. Kuhl, Jr.
