There is now information and a sample letter available for download on the PICC Articles & Reviews page for requesting continuation of special education services or an inital evaluation in accordance with Section 3602-c of the State Education Law for NYS homeschooled students pursuant to Reg. 100.10.

2011 NYC / Long Island Homeschool Conventions - March 19th and June 11th, 2011
The March 19th convention will feature guest speakers that are sure to energize your homeschool. In addition to the Ladies Tea, there will also be a Dad's Tool Time! Dad's Tool Time will help equip Homeschool Dads with the tools they need to lead their homeschool.
The June 11th convention will feature a Used Curriculum Sale and annual Homeschool Graduation Ceremony! Plus there will be workshops conducted by local speakers.
Both conventions will take place at the First Baptist Church of Patchogue, NY conveniently located right along the Sunrise Highway for easy access. For those who wish to use the LIRR, a shuttle will be available from the train station to the church!
New York State Homeschoolers should go to the LEAH Alert Page on a regular basis to keep updated on current legal issues affecting homeschool rights in New York State.
Guidance is now available on Chapter 217 of the Laws of 2008, which was signed into law by the Governor on July 7, 2008, relating to students with disabilities who are in home instruction programs pursuant to section 100.10 of the Regulations of the Commissioner of Education (home-schooled students) and are now eligible to receive special education services from their public school districts. In order to receive services in the 2008-09 school year, a parent must submit a written request for such services to the board of education of the school district of location no later than August 6, 2008 of this year.
