Fantasy Fiction Plots: Quests, Wars, and Heists

Friday, April 26 | 10-11:30am How to Write Fantasy Fiction: A Homeschool New York Virtual Workshop Fantasy Fiction Plots: Quests, Wars, and Heists with author Amanda Trumpower  Join us for a survey of common fantasy plots in books, TV shows, and movies with the goal of helping you choose the best template for your personal style, story, and characters. GRADES: 6-12 REQUIRED MATERIALS: Note-taking supplies. Also, it would be helpful if registrants would do at least one of the following, depending on which plot type they might be interested in: [Quests] Watch Star Wars IV: A New Hope, Eragon, or How to Train Your Dragon [Heists] Read a summary of the YA fantasy book, Six of Crows (there is some violence in the book – not sure if it’s in the summary), or watch the new Dungeons & Dragons movie, Honor Among Thieves [Quests/Wars] Watch Lord of the Rings: Fellowship of the Ring [Quests, fiction for kids] Read a summary of Alanna: The First Adventure by Tamora Pierce PRICE: $5/Homeschool New York family, $10/nonmember family REGISTRATION: Register by midnight on Thursday, April 25. Upon registering, you will receive a confirmation email with a Zoom link to access the workshop.
